Amon and Reina's trilogy draws to a close with Wrathful King. At times it seemed impossible that these two would find their way back to each other. Too many twisted family secrets, too many underhanded deals and too many vengeful motives for dark deeds. Theirs has been a complicated and heartarching love story that is perfectly tied up in this book.
Amon has proven his loyalty and devotion time and again. But this books sees his faultlessly protect and care for Reina through her recovery from her brutal kidnapping and torture. He is her comfort and support when she can find no way out. And Reina becomes the queen she was destined to be. Through healing she recognises her own strength and power. I loved that she has no regrets for the vengeance handed out by her own hands. Reina won't lose sleep over deserving lives lost.
This book is heartbreaking and tough at times. The content is dark and violent in places. But Wrathful King brings this part of the story to a close in a perfectly satisfying and detailed way, while also leaving little hints and clues as to new stories to be told.
