Devolution: A Firsthand Account of the Rainier Sasquatch Massacre by Max Brooks

adventurous mysterious tense

3.25

Devolution was a good, fast-paced read—and definitely a nice thirst-quencher for Bigfoot fans out there. The format, blending firsthand accounts with interviews and reports, gave it an authentic survival-thriller vibe that kept things moving.

The story was fun and tense in places, though at times I wished for a bit more depth in the characters and buildup to some of the more intense moments. Still, it was a unique take on the Bigfoot mythos, and I enjoyed the blend of realism and horror.

If you’re into survival thrillers or cryptid stories, this one is worth a look—just go in for the ride and the fun.
