Salem's Lot by Stephen King
3.75
adventurous dark emotional mysterious sad tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I love King’s ability to make a setting feel like it’s breathing-and later suffocating-but damn I didn’t care for a lot of the main characters apart from Susan and Mark
when Susan is described walking hand in hand with a black-haired fellow vampire I briefly thought she’d turned Ben and got really fucking hyped at the raised stakes (also yay hot vampire couple wehehe) but then I remembered he was likely the tall man in the prologue and I got sad. You deserved sooooo much better Susan ;-;
