If Tomorrow Comes
by Sidney Sheldon
Sidney Sheldon creates a very complicated plot in If Tomorrow Comes. His main character Tracy Whitney undergoes so many life changes throughout the story that at the end it seems like a whirlwind of many lives. She's a successful banker, a falsely imprisoned victim, a thief, and a con artist. But the one thing that she's never able to be is herself. That's okay because this book isn't about introspection it's about a gripping high adventure on-the-edge-of-your seat thrill ride. Every page has the reader waiting for the next bad thing that's going to happen to Ms. Whitney. And that's what makes it such a good story.
I wasn't looking for great literature, I was just looking for a suitable story. I also wasn't looking for profound insights into the human condition. I was looking for an escape. Everything I expected was delivered as promised.
