Catwoman, Vol. 3: Death of the Family by Ann Nocenti

2.0

Yowza, this is bad ! Following on the train wreck of the second volume the third volume, "Death of the Family" manages to be even more disjointed and incoherent. There is a Joker storyline that is poorly conceived and then just petters out in the middle of the book just to be revived at the end for a non resolution. Even more irritating is a fragmented story about demons and dark forces that never really goes anywhere. The latter part of the book is better for both coherency and artwork, but it is just not enough to save this disaster. The very last story, which seems to have been originally published as a "zero" numbered edition is actually fun and provides a compelling an interesting new origin story for Selina Kyle. It is really unfortunate that this New 52 title never followed the course set by that origin story.
