2.5 - This book was great up until the end. I was hooked, and I stayed up late to finish it (which I haven’t done in a long time). Then, I got to the ending and I’m just like... wtf was that. It’s nowhere near what I guessed or hoped. The ending is such a weird curveball. I didn’t really want a happy, tied-in-bow they all lived happily ever after ending. I wanted a horror novel. However, the writing was great, and I loved the slight mixed-media aspect. I may pick up this authors future works after I check reviews to make sure the ending isn’t wack.
