I didn't have strong feelings in either direction at the start of this book, I think the world felt very overwhelming, so it took me a second to find my footing. But as the story progressed, I began to really enjoy just how meticulously crafted each aspect of the story and the characters were. I think it's post-apocalyptic premise and multi-pov narratives are so unique and well-done. The story builds on itself and creates something that is so engaging and cohesive. I appreciate the author doesn't write for shock factors. I think my biggest qualm is with syenite's perspective- it's the most action-packed one but also the most difficult to get through because of how relationships are approached there.
Overall a great read with some really thoughtful worldbuilding and reflections on our society. Can't wait to read the next one!
