They Came to Baghdad by Agatha Christie
4.0

They Came to Baghdad is a spy/action thriller and not the typical Christie mystery. The book starts out slowly, introducing several different characters without an obvious connection between them. However, when the character of Victoria Jones enters the scene, things start to get interesting. After being fired from her job, Victoria falls for a man she meets in a London park. Without even knowing his last name, Victoria decides to travel to Baghdad to find him. She ends up in the middle of an exciting, but dangerous adventure.

After Victoria experiences a few different adventures and close calls, the story has a dramatic and unexpected ending. This is a reread for me and the book is much better than I remember it. Even though I prefer Christie's more traditional mysteries, I'm glad I read this book again.
