I find that I really enjoy the style of 1800's writing. Sort of reminiscent of "Great Expectations" in its writing style. There is something about it that I just find so elegant and classy. The girls were so lovable. I had a good time reading about them bonding the way they did, while also fighting like normal siblings do. I was surprised that I'd never before read this book, or seen any movie adaptation, so I gave it a go and I was glad. I was even glad that there was no central conflict. It was just a "slice of life" as it was back then. Loved the lessons about how people with different incomes live totally different lifestyles. Overall pretty wonderful. :)
