Taste of Darkness

Sorry, I just can't. This book was bad from the start, I just couldn't find myself getting into the story. While reading I often found myself having to go back a few lines to remember what was happening because it wasn't interesting enough for me to pay attention. The writing and dialogues were bland and insipid, even the supposed action scenes were mild and unappetising.
At first, I thought it was just because it'd been a while (okay actually only a month) since I read Scent of Magic and I needed a few more pages to recall what exactly had happened so far. Then the more I read, the more disinterested I became.
I didn't care about the "war", about the plague and the Lilies, about Tohon and Cellina and Jael, about Kerrick or Avry or Quain or Loren or Ryne or Flea, not even about what happened to Belen.
Finally I decided to check the goodreads reviews and decided, sigh, I won't finish it.
On the other hand maybe if I hadn't just gotten my new books from Book Depository, I would have sucked it up and completed the book. But i'm about 97% sure I won't regret giving this up.
