How to Walk Away
by Katherine Center
oh my. how heartbreakingly beautiful this was.
as a cancer survivor, seeing an incredibly accurate description of a caregiver + a disabled person dynamic was so refreshing- it’s a beautiful, frustrating, heartwarming, and inspiring dynamic between a person who is sick and the people who love and want to care for them. although I couldn’t necessarily relate to Maggie’s physical limitations, the mental roadblocks and emotions she felt having to navigate to her new way of life resonated with me so much & was so healing for me. also, i’m SO glad Maggie was such a strong, tenacious FMC because it would’ve irritated tf out of me if she wasn’t (so thank you Miss Katherine ☺️).
*this book is so important for anyone who is experiencing any kind of loss or major life change and struggling to adapt.*
please look up the trigger warnings if you’re unsure, but I promise it’s worth it. 5 ⭐️
