Holy shit. That Vamola flashback absolutely wrecked me. I was already tearing up at the start seeing her backstory—then completely lost it when her mom explained why she didn’t want to be called “mom.” The idea that we’re all strangers who shouldn’t trust one another because trust is what leads to chaos… it’s heartbreaking, especially because you can see how deeply she still loves Vamola. Watching her cry as Vamola was sent to Earth, knowing how clueless and innocent her daughter truly is—it just destroyed me. I feel so guilty for ever suspecting Vamola of anything. She’s not just innocent looking, she’s genuinely innocent.😭
Meanwhile, the team stepping up their game and learning to fight opponents they once thought were impossible was so satisfying. But it’s also chilling how tiny their efforts seem compared to the overwhelming power and sheer number of aliens who’ll stop at nothing to take what they want from other worlds.
This volume was intense, emotional, and left me desperate for more. DanDaDan continues to hit way harder than I ever expect it to.
