Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman
4.0

TW: anorexia, self-harm, OCD, discussion of bullying, biphobia, homophobia

As usual, I enjoyed this book. This book is a lot more serious compared to previous ones as Nick struggles with guilt as he tries to find a way to get help for Charlie, whose mental health is getting worse.

I love how Alice Oseman conveys really serious topics in a non-harmful way. Unlike most novels, the diversity and the topics at hand don't feel forced. It just feels natural for these serious topics to be discussed. Somehow, with this being a graphic novel, so many stuff and messages is written in this volume about mental health.

I love how it shows that you can love someone so much yet that love can't help him. Also, Nick was so supportive and the way he is worried about Charlie and feeling guilty for not being able to help him is something that can be related to people going through this in real life.

Overall, I loved the way the topics were covered and really enjoyed the writing and illustrations.
This book is so diverse with lots of serious topics covered senstively.
I will forever love this series and look forward to the next installment.
