Will End in Fire: A Novel by Nicole Bokat
4.25
challenging dark fast-paced

Ellie is tasked with watching her brother (though he's 24, he has a history of drug abuse) while her parents go away to celebrate an anniversary. Fed up with his childness, she leaves input to have to return for a work laptop, only to arrive and find the house in flames. How did this fire start? Is Ellie to blame?

This brings up the past of Ellie, who accidentally scarred an acquaintance in a small fire accident. But she also starts to get close to her brother's friend Drew and (her brothers) girlfriend and there are suspicions on both of them.

The ending is very shocking. The book deals with the Covid outbreak too. It was interesting to see how the characters dealt with this during this other tough time in their lives.
