We Were Once a Family: A Story of Love, Death, and Child Removal in America by Roxanna Asgarian

SO heartbreaking.  These kids deserved so much better.  I appreciated that the focus of this book was on the birth families of the kids, and how they repeatedly were never provided the help and support they needed.  This true story is shocking, but unsurprising given the in-depth investigation into the history of events that led to this heartbreaking and preventable tragedy.
