2nd Time Listening
I have just re-listened to this as the second instalment is out.
When I found out my favourite author, Julie, was finally diving into a vampire series, I was absolutely over the moon—I’ve always been obsessed with vampire books! Knowing her style, I expected something far from the usual, tired tropes. And, of course, she didn’t disappoint. This story isn’t your traditional vampire tale, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.
I’ll admit, the pacing of *Blood Lovers* felt a little slower than I’m used to with Julie’s books, but that might just be because I’ve gotten spoiled binge-listening to her completed series. With this one, I’m going to have to be patient and wait for all instalment.
That said, this book works wonderfully as an introduction to the series—it feels like it’s just grazing the surface of what’s to come. I can sense Julie’s setting the stage for some mind-blowing plot twists and deeper character building (well for some of them) in future instalments.
As always, the narration is phenomenal. Julie has such a talent for picking voice actors who absolutely nail the delivery and bring every character to life. It’s an audiobook that’s not just worth listening to but worth savoring. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next and now diving into the second audiobook.

Knowing Julie I knew it wasnt going to be the norm (thank goodness as that is what I love about her books) and it wasnt. The book to me was a little slow compared to some of her others, and I have a feeling that is because I am so use to binge listening to her series and this one I am going to have to wait. In listening to this book you can tell which characters this is about and which ones are yet to have their stories told. I totally loved the narration in this book, like always she has banging people to do them. Totally worth a listen to and I cant wait for the next ones to come..... 11.11 (LOL)
