I liked this book, and I might read more by Carson McCullers because I am intrigued. I feel like I maybe didn't fully understand this book though, or like something went over my head. But I liked the atmospheric writing and the existential look into a young girl's life. My one issue with it is maybe that the characters seemed quite one-dimensional, but perhaps that was also a product of our narrator's perspective on the world.
