Dostovesky's sentimentality, his delve into human psyche and this narrative of societal constructs of Russian society that despite being nearly a century removed echo the same patterns of human reactions was astounding to read. Like an orange being peeled from cover to pith and then further into the soft green seed within I felt each layer being unfolded there arose questions and even answers to some of the most arcane dilemas of the mind of a concious human
When read today , littered with  refrences of shakspere and pushkin the feel is altogether modern. A narrative woven to not just tell a story but also to point out the crevices of the human behaviour that are inescapable. To me (as to most others) this was an incredible read.
