Fifty Shades Freed
by E.L. James
In this book, James jumped back and forth, this book begins after the wedding on the honeymoon with flashbacks of little scenes pre-honeymoon. There was an argument James keeps referring to, the wedding vow argument, and she never tells that story (very frustrating!). There is still too much sex too often. I really enjoyed this plot line, however spending so much time jumping back and forth in the past/present and the not really kinky sex scenes, James wasn't able to build more on the story to make it better.
You find out that Ana is pregnant in the last 1/3 of the book and from there it is rushed. James could really have gotten a fourth book out of this series if she didn't force so much together in this one. I hate that the only thing she really shows with teh pregnancy and Christian is the horrid reaction he has and then, because of Ana putting herself in danger, he has almost a complete change of heart. I said almost because he still has issues right? Once that happens, James jumps straight to 2 years after Ana has the baby, with only a quick "recap" of the birth, leaving me wanting.
When it is two years after Ted's birth, Christian seems a completely different person, a loving and attentive father and husband, but because James skips ahead so far and rushed we miss the journey Christian and Ana traveled that got Christian to that place. I for one would really have liked to experience that story. I just think James could have done better.
