This is a gorgeous exploration of the power of youth in activism. Set in India in the 1940s, Anjali's mother heeds Gandhiji's call to the freedom movement and Anjali is proud to learn alongside her. This is a deeply inspiring story about what is worth fighting for.

It is difficult to explain just how much I loved this book. It had me tearing up with joy, hope, sadness, anger, despair, disbelief, relief, etc. This is a book that is like a hug; something comforting with a guaranteed joyous result. I will reread this again and again.
