I really enjoyed the dynamic between Kate and Mikhail. As someone who related to Kate’s experience with sexuality, this passage from the text really spoke to me
It was the care. It was maybe the first time in her life she’d been with someone who’d cared about fulfilling her needs. Her exes had all liked being dominated in bed, but in a selfish way, where Kate had to be both mistress and servant—in control of their pleasure, but expected to get her own satisfaction from the control alone. She hadn’t dated in a while because she’d started to wonder if she actually liked the things she thought she liked. If she did like dominating men, why did she find them so exhausting? Maybe all the neglect and chaos of her childhood had affected her more than she realized, and taking control with romantic partners was just a coping mechanism.
This was something that I struggled with for a long time, as many portrayals of MF relationships are too often Male dom and Femme sub. This book is great for the subtle theme of empowering women to reclaim their sexuality and not be afraid to reach for it.

The writing was also very good, well-paced and matched the personalities of the characters and tone of the narrative. Guerre does a wonderful job of bringing find justice to femme dom/male sub relationships without the usual rhetoric that makes it too vulgar or crass.

Got this rec from Reddit and happily impressed! Lots of heartwarming moments between Kate and Mikhail that had me laughing out loud and smiling for them
