This is a prequel novella to the Christmas Mysteries series. At the time of this review, it is available free from the author. It takes us back to when Mrs Claus was a newlywed and tells of how she met Gilbert, the lovable house elf. The two of them get accused of murder and join together to prove their innocence.
I adore Gilbert. He is one of my favorite characters in the series. This story gives us his beginning as house elf for the Claus family and was brilliant. While it is a short story it is complete and was delightful to read.
