Empire of Lies is the 2nd book of the Torrio Empire series, which picks up right where the cliffhanger from book 1, Empire of Lust, ended, so readers must read this series in order. Empire of Lies is jam-packed with so much intensity, twists and turns, and drama that I had to take a step back and breathe.
Bianca finds herself reeling from the craziness and challenges she faces after her decisions from the first book. I loved, loved, loved Callum in this book. His character development was so much more, and it was everything. J.L. Beck did a phenomenal job portraying Callum's hurt and turmoil and opening up his heart - tearing down his walls as he realized just how much Bianca means to him.
And, of course - we get the dreaded cliffhanger ending - which gutted me more than the first book. J.L. Beck knows what she's doing to her readers, and it's pure evil, but I love it. It needs to be June now because I can't wait to see how this trilogy ends. I am also eager to see the story between Tatum and Romero unfold.
