This series is incredible. Easily moved into my top series spot after this installment. This is true science fiction romance with high stakes and a deep story. Literary writing style. Vigilance is book 3, part psychological thriller, and begins a long arc of the series (per the author to me in interactions on tiktok).
The FMC is struggling with ptsd and panic attacks from her experiences as a result of being one of the abducted humans in book 1. Hallucinations have her questioning herself and the intentions of her colleague Ezraji. Meanwhile Ezra is struggling with what he feels for her. My heart was in my throat reading this one but dang I love these two together. The romance is very slow burn but the pay off is worth it. They do get their HEA.
