Was recommended to me because of my interest in AI, haven’t seen blade runner (though planning to watch it now). Definitely had a lot of cool tidbits and worldbuilding that I really liked (the mood organ, the scarcity of animals causing them to be elevated into sacred status symbols, robot companions for martian colonists, mercerism), but I didn’t feel like they were really utilized or built on in the story itself. The plot was a bit anticlimactic, and I didn’t really like/care about Rick, and most of the other characters felt pretty lifeless. Overall the book kept my interest and definitely made me think, so I just wish those really cool bits of worldbuilding had been used in a more exciting/cohesive plot.
