Daughter of Mine by Megan Miranda

3.75 ⭐️ This book had such a great ending that I didn't see coming! It was definitely a slow burn thriller but I did enjoy the flashbacks and the small developments in the beginning kept me wanting to know more as the story unfolded. The atmosphere really drew me in (which is really the focal point of the story unfolding) and I loved the way Megan Miranda sectioned off this book. It's was written in 4 different parts and I loved that with each chapter it stated the date, time, and precipitation. In the first about 60% there's a drought, which I felt set the pace of those chapters. Then, the precipitation starts to intensify as the chapters go on, and that's when all the action happens. I felt that this writing style was really unique and had never read anything like it and the correlation really kept me going in the last sections of the book. Aside from this, I loved the slight spooky atmosphere and just not knowing who was involved. I kept trying to piece things together to guess but the twist at the end was great! I am not used to this slower pace thriller, but none the less, I really loved the ending and just the overall atmosphere of the book.

Thank you Net Galley for this arc!
