This was an adorable book tinged with sadness. I didn’t realize how much this little verse book could hold but man it packed a punch. I was tearing up when Odder got bit by the shark and the whole attack. but then there was a lot of healing and growth and it was very sweet to see how she recovered the first time but the second time was when it really got me. I am not a mother but this really spoke to me especially seeing how her friend mothered the new pup after losing hers. I think it makes me a bit like Odder since she never had a pup but felt this urge after a while to help the new abandoned pup. Sparked a lot of weird maternal feelings in me and did not expect that from a verse book about otters.
