Third read through in preparation for release of the 3rd Crescent City book.
I remember reading the first time and thinking it was just OK. Perhaps due to the info dump which is the beginning of the book. But, knowing the whole world building before you start really helps you be immersed in the actual story rather than just go WTF.  The middle did sag a little but that's not affected my rating, as it goes on my overall enjoyment of the book.  Once I got over the sagging ( 75 to 100 pages) then I struggled to put the book down.  This time was as intense as the first, if not more so. I had a real connection to the characters, and although I knew who the big "baddie" was I had forgotten the bits leading up to it. If anyone gave this a go when it first came out and thought meh, I would recommend giving it another go.
