The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
First Review
I've wanted to read this book for a while, but whenever it was available from the library I had too many other books out. And when I had no books out there was a long hold line. The stars aligned this weekend and I'm so glad I finally got to read it. This book is pure fire! I loved it. Absolutely spectacular read!

Updated review. When I saw the prompt for this month’s The Diverse Baseline Challenge of a book with a teenage main character, I groaned. Young Adult is so not my thing! It took a couple of weeks and then lightning struck. Elizabeth Acevedo! I LOVE her work, I LOVE her Young Adult books. So I got The Poet X from the library again and I read it in one night. I have so many highlights from the last two lines of a poem. Elizabeth Acevedo knows how to end poems!!!!!
