A very very short read, but worth the small amount of time it take to finish! What an interesting short story about a guy who goes along with what the government says is for the best...until it’s too late.

It starts with a simple (and ridiculous) mandate that any cat or dog that isn’t brown is bad, but that mandate quickly escalates and expands. It’s interesting to see how easy it is for the main character to rationalize the government’s power and surrender his freedom and the freedom of others so quickly because it doesn’t really affect him and his daily happiness that much.

Honestly, I wish this was a whole book and not just a short story. 4 out of 5 stars.
