Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews

4.0

These books do not ever disappoint. This is an Andrea Nash story which is an arc to the Kate Daniels books. In this one, I got a lot better look at Andrea and what makes her tick. She is a beautiful, tough woman who is learning how to navigate relationships. Because of an abusive past, trust does not come easy but she's learning and trying in order to repair damage she has done with the one man she has ever loved. At the same time, Andrea is reinventing her idea of family to include the people who have stood by her side no matter what. Additionally, this book gives readers a more in depth look at Roman, who turned out to be funny, sweet, and kind of sexy. Of course Andrea can't see past her feelings for Raphael.

One word of advice, there is a Kate Daniels story at the end of this book. It runs concurrently, so you could read either one first. If I could do it again, I would probably read Magic Gifts first.
