Can’t say I loved this one as much as BHE, but that’s a hard one to beat.
With this one, expect the unexpected. I just love I how Pinborough plays on your assumptions as a reader and throws you for loops and for that reason it was a 4 star read for me at first. Then upon further reflection the religious and voodoo take on it just kept me shaking my head in confusion dropping it to two stars. Just when I thought I’d figure out little cues, she’s throw a twist in. I listed via audible and I think that helped with the speed of it (there are some boring parts) but overall an enjoyable read while finishing the baby room.
