Textbook Romance by Kristen Bailey
4.0
A very cute meet cute and I liked the romance between Jack And Zoey. Hot sex scenes.
Full review: I liked how this one worked. Maybe because Baily got the pace right in this one. The other one I read was too much and didn't even read as realistic. But "Textbook Romance" takes place over several months and then skips forward. That felt "right" to me. I get that we all want our happily ever after, but I always struggle with insta-love and people deciding this is their person in 2 freaking weeks.
We follow Zoe Swift who is at a wedding of her two teacher work colleagues. Her husband can't make it, but she finds herself having a good time and meets a younger man named Jack Damon. But Zoe gets terrible news that throws her and causes her whole world and the world of her two kids to be turned upside down. Several months later when school starts, she is shocked to meet the new sub teacher, Jack.
Zoe and Jack have great chemistry. I can see why Zoe is heart broken about her life, but still finds herself becoming increasingly attracted to Jack. And Jack, his story is great. I got it, and liked him and got his whole backstory and loved his protectiveness of Zoe. And there are some very real reasons why the two of them don't want to get together, but can't resist. The love scenes were great!
I also liked both of their plots and got why Zoe made some of the decisions they did.
Loved the ending. But the main reason why I gave this 4 stars was that at times the flow was so slow, and I got tired of the switching back and forth between Zoe and Jack when one of them would just 'retell' the same scene. Also, there were some minor plot holes going on with Zoe's story or at least it didn't feel wrapped up in the way that I wish it had. Just left open-ended.
