Bride of the Tornado
by James Kennedy
This book was quite the ride. It has some things that I thought really worked well. The atmospheric quality of the entire book did make me think of a Stephen King book or Lynch film. There was a pervasive feeling of dread that continued through the whole book that I really liked. I could see this being made into a really campy horror flick. I did not feel that the characters were as developed as they could be. I also felt that there were multiple story lines that were never tied up. I don’t think horror books should have to tie everything up but this was just too many opposing plot lines. Then again, maybe that’s why it’s dreamlike quality worked so well. I have been back and forth on how to review this. Thanks to Goodreads, I got to read an advanced copy. This book sure held my attention and entertained me, nonetheless. I would be interested in reading more from this author.
