Slumdog Millionaire by Vikas Swarup
4.0
Okay, so all this time I'm reading this book and I just can't figure out why everyone loved it so much. I didn't get on the Slumdog Millionaire wagon when the book was released and while I remember Daddy telling me that he went and saw the movie, for some reason I didn't see it in cinemas either.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the book, Ram's tales and experiences were interesting but for a book that was translated into 34 languages (according to my copy) and adapted into a major motion picture, I just didn't get it. At least not until I got to page 305 of 318 and then it was all uphill from there 😊. I'm a sucker for a happy ending and this one wrapped up perfectly.
Before the ending though I was looking at giving it 3 stars. It was nice, but not amazing so it ran the risk of being put aside for another book. But since I'm trying to give all books a chance, I stuck with it and I'm so glad I did.
