too many white lies & white lines; super rich kids with nothing but loose ends, super rich kids with nothing but fake friends - frank ocean

^^^that’s literally what this book is. I really ate this up & could even maybe round this to 4.5 stars but it’s kind of hard to sympathize with characters who literally have so much that all that’s left for them to do is fuck each other up 😭 there were also minor parts of the writing that bugged me (incorrect use of “and I” vs “and me”?? it’s not a big deal but it always bugs me), but there were a lot of parts of the writing that made up for that - Jess Hastings really knows how to pack an emotional punch!

Magnolia & BJ are so toxic & dramatic but I still love them together. I def have a soft spot for BJ’s dumbass but also enjoyed the side characters and hope we get to learn more about them as the series progresses!

btw, I predicted that ending off the cuff, laughing at myself not thinking it would actually happen. but I was STILL SHOCKED & MY JAW DROPPED WHEN I READ IT BC OOP! THE DRAMA, THE AFTERMATH! 🫨

Onto book two to see what’s up with Daisy Haites!
