The Listeners by Jordan Tannahill

4.0

**3.5/5**

The Listeners is a book surrounding Clair, a teacher, mother, and wife who has her world shifted when she begins to hear a low-resonating hum. The Hum, as it is dubbed penetrates her every moment and begins to cause shifts in her life and relationships. When her life truly begins to unravel, she discovers that there are more people who hear the hum. What begins as an innocent support group gradually shifts into something far more extreme with major consequences for everyone involved.

I really enjoyed The Listeners. I thought the perspective, and the main characters were all super interesting. I like the constant on-edge, thrilling feeling I got while reading. I was never sure what would happen when I turned the page or what crazy decision Claire was going to go with next.

I do wish there had been a bit more development with the group, as that was one of the most interesting aspects of the story, and I just wanted more from it. I also found the ending a little bit disappointing, BUT all in all, enjoyed it quite a bit and would definitely recommend it to people wanting a little bit of a thrill!
