Feisty by Julia Kent

2.0

I’m not sure this book works as a stand-alone. I thought it was a novella to start a series when I checked it out. The characters are likable the main point of tension between the couple is ridiculous. There were several contradicting issues throughout the book. Her main issue with the hero is that he gave her the nickname feisty in the seventh grade when she beat him up after he tried to kiss her. But then she also reminisces about spending her youth with a shaved head taking kickboxing lessons and wearing doc martins. That seems at odds with someone who could hold a 20 year grudge for a nickname that it seems was more than embraced. Also there was a lot of new age energy talk that didn’t seem to fit with the character or the story line. Again maybe these things would have made more sense if I had read in order. So maybe as part of a series it’s okay but as a standalone, pass.
