Go as a River
by Shelley Read
Will keep this short and sweet. Initially i did not know where this book would lead me, but with its rich, descriptive writing and narrative, it seems as if this book transported me through the losses, grief and familial legacy of a tragic family. Regardless, this book ended with ought me feeling heavy, or sad. This book is a must read, it gave me insight into the depths of our vulnerable and often, frightening experiences as humans, and helped me emphasise with experiences i could never understand nor feel. Beatifically narrated, this book brings me back to wondering all the stories of women we have not heard. A modern classic, often underscoring the duality between transient nature of our existence, legacy and the permanent of few aspects of our lives, and belongings.
