I Saw Her First by Jen Morris

4.0

I loved being back on Fruit Street! I’ve read all of Jen’s books and really they just keep getting better and better. Just like all her books the writing was fun and so full of love and emotion and really real representations of grief. I loved watching Daisy and Wes find each other and really fall in love and make necessary changes in their individual lives! Both of their stories arcs were so well written!

Daisy and Wes were GOOD! I loved the tension and the longing and the pining! Just like the last one, they have a pretty big age gap, and that’s not something I normally seek out, but they were kind of in the same place emotionally and that really makes a difference for me! They were both stuck and finally realizing that maybe it’s time to make a change, and it just so happens that the change is acting on their feelings for each other!!

I also really appreciated about both of their grief was written. They both experienced such big losses and they both kind of dealt with it in the same way. Which then made it easy for them to talk about, eventually, with each other and really help each other make changes. And even with Jess, the way he was dealing with his grief was so different than his dad’s. It was just nice to see how different people handle, and even don’t handle, their grief.

Thanks so much to Jen Morris for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
