China Unbound: A New World Disorder by Joanna Chiu

informative medium-paced

4.0

A thorough and sobering look at the reach and influence of the Chinese Communist Party, both within China and abroad. This is both eye-opening and discouraging, from the complicity of middle power democratic governments (*cough* Canada), the new colonialism resulting from funding the infrastructure in less wealthy nations, and the surveillance, harassment and intimidation of Chinese citizens abroad (and anyone else that dares criticize the CCP). We should all likely be paying much closer attention to the ways, both large and small, that the CCP has influence over individuals, politicians (at all levels of government and in countless countries), institutions, and corporations.
