Yes Please by Amy Poehler

Parts of this book were really funny, and parts just ... weren't. There was a lot of name-dropping, or so it seemed. I could have done without an entire chapter dedicated to all the famous people she met while working on SNL. (Although, maybe that's unavoidable in the context of writing about her comedy career.)

The parts I loved most were about pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood - maybe because that's the stage of life I'm in right now, but those really resonated with me. Her chapter about Haiti was also heartbreaking, and I wish she had written more about her experiences there.

Overall, I'd recommend this book, especially to young women and young mothers. There were some incredibly motivational stories about how to be a woman in modern society that I NEEDED to hear, including her motto that I have adopted as my own: "Good for you; not for me."
