This book deals with sexism in society, and more specifically in the scientific community. The main protagonist struggles to make a place for herself, and her daughter, in the world whilst not compromising on her values.
I know that Six-thirty has divided opinion with some loving him and others loathing him. Personally I suspended my disbelief at his cognitive skills and let those bits wash over me.
My only real complaints about the book are that it’s very Caucasian. I was taken by surprise at a couple of very gritty scenes which make it a less light read than one might expect.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and am keen to share it with my daughters who are in STEM jobs.
