This is American Literature. To the core. This is the contemporary American story. Opioid epidemic, poverty, big pharma, class disparity, everything.
The main character tells his story in such a crystal clear way. He speaks with such emotional intelligence, I could feel my heart splinter chapter by chapter.
And unlike A Little Life, this book is not just senseless tragedy. There is a bigger message that I think more American need to be reading right now.
