In Other Words, Love by Shirley Jump

4.0

In Other Words, Love is an enjoyable second chance romance.

Introverted, studious Kate fell in love with extroverted, outdoorsy Trent during their last year of college but Trent's fear of them being too different to make a lasting relationship work ultimately drove them apart. Now 15 years later, Kate is tasked with ghostwriting Trent's autobiography to help launch the IPO for his outdoor clothing company. The reunion stirs up all kinds of emotions for Kate and causing Trent to wonder if he pulled the plug on their relationship far too soon.

Shirley Jump did a really great job of building the history of Kate and Trent by sprinkling significant memories throughout the novel that way the reader never feels overwhelmed by the backstory. Their romance feels well-balanced with their personal journeys of growth and self-discovery. I especially enjoyed watching Kate learn to believe in herself and take a chance on writing her own novel.

Thank you NetGalley, Hallmark Publishing and Shirley Jump for the digital ARC.
