Planting Gardens in Graves by r.h. Sin
5.0
R.H. Sin was one of my favourite new-to-me authors in 2017, having read 2 of his whiskey, words and a shovel works - of which I discovered in Barnes and Noble in New York. Due to this, when I saw this available on NetGalley I was extremely excited to be able to review it and read it before publication, and especially see his growth. I adored his poetry and found this took a different turn to his previous works, this centred more on growth and personal strength and had a feminist touch to it which I surprisingly really enjoyed. If you're fans of Lang Leav you'd love this.
Here are a few of my favourite quotes:
'they're afraid of women, who refuse to sit quietly when force-fed a bunch of bullshit, they fear strong women, and so they call them bitches as if their strength is an issue'
'we plant seeds of love, in the gardens of those, who have no intent, to care for us'
'patience is the monster, I fear the most, causing us to stay longer than we should, waiting for a change that'll never happen'
'that's the problem with the heart, wanting to be touched by familiar hands, even if those hands were the reason for its cracks.'
'i realised in the end that I was at risk of being homeless, making homes out of humans'
