I loved this one, and again, it felt like a fresh and new story.

I really liked the bisexual representation which is difficult for the series just based on the whole concept of the khui and how resonance works. The book covered several serious topics like the outcast clan and how it was mostly cosmetic reasons they were kicked out of clans. I think Steph handled that really well with O’jek. Body issues were also covered which were really relatable.

I loved the relationship between Pak and Juth, and how Juth stepped in and stepped up to being a father. Pak is one of the cutest written children I’ve ever read. He is so cute, and I don’t even like children!

This book has such a huge shakeup in the Icehome tribe with everything getting destroyed by the big shell monsters. I like how it shakes up the tribe dynamic by shifting who is on the beach while they rebuild.
