The Last Command by Timothy Zahn

4.0

While the trilogy is not really a masterpiece of storytelling, Zahn's ability to manage this orchestra of a cast in such a way that they all felt consistent internally and externally to the story and the original films is such a commendable achievement. Thrawn as a villain will stick in your head for a long time and while I don't see these stories really acting as films because of how convoluted some of the stuff gets (see: alien politics), I like it as a long series of episodes of an anthology like the clone wars. Fun!
