So, I LOVE the TV show based on this memoir. I recently rewatched it, so I decided to reread this. The first time I read it was in high school at church camp which I honestly find iconic.
I'm a little surprised to see this came out in 2010 with how dated/offensive a lot of the verbiage was when Piper was describing other prisoners. If you're sensitive to how POC/LGBT+ people/poor people/non-Americans are discussed, this one probably isn't the best pick.
I don't think I would've had as much fun with this if I didn't love the show so much. But I relate quite a bit to Piper's background, and it's interesting to hear her take on the federal prison system I've personally never encountered. Take it all with a grain of salt, but I enjoyed listening to this on audio.
