Evil Under the Sun by Agatha Christie, Michael Bakewell
4.0

Listened to the BBC dramatization! It was good. Classic Poirot, and the dramatization was a fun way to experience it. I have more of the books in this dramatized CD version, but I'm not sure whether I'll count them as "read" in the future. I'm counting this one for the Goodreads summer reading challenge!

Update 3/12/24: Just read the actual book version! It's been five years since I listened to it, so I fully did not remember who did it and I was surprised by the ending. I sometimes try to pick up on her clues and red herrings, but I generally find that I always enjoy them more when I'm not thinking too hard about solving the mystery before Poirot tells all. I especially enjoyed the little fourth-wall breaks in this one, such as when Poirot tells another character that he never reveals anything before the final chapter. I love that it works as both a metaphor AND a nod to the fact that we are literally reading a book and we know that Poirot literally will not tell how he knows everything until the actual final chapter.
